  1. 1946

    • Pontofrio (Globex) is founded
  2. 1996

    • Globex IPO (initial public offering)
  3. 2001

    • Partnership between Globex and Unibanco to create Investcred. We now offer private label, co-branded credit cards, among other services
  4. 2009

    • Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição acquires Globex’s control
    • Association agreement between Pontofrio and Casas Bahia
  5. 2010

    • Casa Bahia Comercial Ltda established a new company (“Nova Casa Bahia”) through the transfer of operating assets and liabilities. The entire share capital of Nova Casa Bahia was transferred to Globex’s equity through the merger of Nova Casa Bahia shares into Globex’s equity. The transferred assets include Casas Bahia stores, the Casas Bahia brand, DCs, inventory, installment plan and the Bartira furniture factory, among other assets.
    • Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição transfers to Globex all the commercial establishments where the durable goods retail business operated (“Lojas Extra-Eletro”).
  6. 2012

    • The Company is renamed Via Varejo
  7. 2016

    • Restructuring and merger with Cnova
  8. 2018

    • Via Varejo and Airfox announce the launch of banQi, an innovative digital bank concept
    • Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição sells 100% of its interest in Via Varejo through an auction on B3, distributing control on the stock exchange to become a corporation, without a defined controlling shareholder.
    • New management’s tenure commences in July 2019.
  9. 2019

    • Via Varejo e Airfox anunciam o lançamento do banQi, um conceito de banco digital inovador;
    • Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição aliena a totalidade de sua participação em Via Varejo através de um leilão na bolsa B3, pulverizando o controle em bolsa e tornando-se uma Corporation, sem controlador definido;
    • Ínicio do mandato do novo Management julho 2019.
  10. 2020

    • Conclusion of banQi’s takeover (Airfox)
    • Acquisition of logtech ASAPLog, and acquire hire I9XP – a company specialized in technologies development for e-commerce, also a minority interest of 16.67% in Distrito, a hub of innovation and startups.
  11. 2021

    • “Pontofrio” brand changes to “Ponto :>,” with an approach more focused on technology, with an enjoyable, simple, and digital communication.
    • New identity of “Via Varejo” brand to “Via,” reinforcing the company’s strategy of being recognized as the best shopping option for all Brazilians, where, when, and how they desire.
    • Acquisition of sub-acquirer Rede Celer
    • banQi is licensed by the Brazilian Central Bank to operate as a direct credit company (BNQI SCD)
    • Launch of ‘Via Next’ Program with a minority investment (Corporate Venture Capital) in  startups: GoPublic, Poupa Certo; Uffa and Byebnk. ‘Via Next’ is the program that connects Via’s startups, developed in partnership with Distrito, one of its key objectives is to ramp up the Company’s digital transformation and promote innovative solutions that improve customer experience during its entire shopping and relationship journey.
  12. 2022

    • Acquisition of CNT, a logtech specialized in complete offerings for e-commerce, multi-marketplace and plug & play platform operations, working mainly in (i) fulfillment and (ii) fullcommerce (white label) through customized solutions based on proprietary technology.
  13. 2023

    • The new identity of the brand “Via” to “Grupo Casas Bahia” and return of the slogan “Dedicação total a você”, in direct translation, stands for “totally dedicated to you”, reinforcing our origins and rescuing our classic DNA.
